Fiona Higgins - Fearless

FIONA HIGGINS

Fiona is the successful author of the memoir, Love in the Age of Drought and three novels, The Mother’s Group, Wife on the Run and Fearless. With qualifications in the humanities and social sciences, she has worked in the philanthropy and not-for-profit sector in Australia for twenty years. Her talent for writing has seen her work receive critical acclaim ranging from ‘a top-shelf novel’ to ‘a page turning domestic melodrama for the social media age’.

Join us for morning tea as Fiona speaks about her life, writing and her most recent work, Fearless.  It has been described as a shocking, powerful read that takes you to the edge and challenges you to confront your fears.

Ann YoungANN YOUNG

Local Thirroul author, Ann Young, has studied the Illawarra environment, especially the upland swamps for over 35 years.

She will be speaking about her work Upland Swamps in the Sydney Region. She brings together the research that helps us understand the ecology and sedimentary history of the upland swamps on the sandstone plateaus around Sydney, and records the community’s fight to conserve these important environments.
